The Golden Leaf : A Green Initiative

The project is a competition for the design of 77,000 m mixed use office / retail complex. The unique location is at the intersection of three main circulation flows: Putrajaya Boulevard, a green axis that penetrates the building mass, and the main east- west corridor that crosses the river.

As the location is predicated on circulation, this theme was introduced as a metaphor for the building itself: The Golden Leaf. The building itself as a composition that includes an inner courtyard space. This space which is part of the public team, is a true oasis, providing sanctuary from the energy of the inner city. The building skin is comprised of a series of layers. An exterior curvilinear structure, generous sun louvers with a higher density on the east and west facades, and finally the glass-assembly wall partition.
